Office Cleaning in Cambridge
Office cleaning in Cambridge splits three ways: standalone professional space, restored downtown Galt tenancies, and the office wing bolted onto a factory. They are scoped differently and the third one is the most commonly mishandled.
Most office cleaning quotes are written from a square-foot number and a frequency. That works for a plain suite and falls apart everywhere else in this city — particularly on the front-office-inside-a-plant job, where the office is clean-side but the traffic walking into it is not.
What a standard visit covers
- Workstations and offices: desks cleared of debris and wiped where clear, monitors and screens on request, chairs, phones and shared keyboards disinfected, bins emptied and relined
- Washrooms: fixtures, partitions, mirrors, dispensers restocked, floors washed by hand around the base of the toilet, and a check that the extract grille is not furred
- Kitchen and coffee areas: counters, sink, appliance exteriors, microwave interior, tables and chairs, floor, and the bin nobody wants to deal with
- Meeting rooms and reception: tables, glass, whiteboards on instruction, entry mats, and door and sidelight glass at hand height
- Floors: vacuumed throughout, hard floors washed, entry areas done last
- High-touch: door handles, push plates, light switches, elevator buttons, handrails, badge readers
Front offices inside plants
This is the Cambridge-specific one. An office wing attached to a manufacturing floor gets shop-floor dust, oil-film footfall through the connecting door, and visitors in boots. The entry between the two is where the whole scope lives or dies: matting that is actually cleaned rather than shaken, the connecting corridor done every visit, and the meeting room used for supplier visits treated as front-of-house. Engineering and quality areas often hold equipment nobody may move — those get written into the scope as touch or no-touch, room by room.
The Gaslight District and downtown Galt
The restored mill and commercial buildings around Main and Water Street are a detail clean, not a volume one. Exposed brick, timber, tall glass, polished or sealed concrete and open ceilings mean dust collects on ledges and beams that a vacuum on a pole reaches and a mop never will, and the glass is the first thing anyone sees. These tenancies are usually quoted with more time and fewer square feet than the number would suggest.
Rotation items
Not everything needs doing nightly, but the things that do not still need doing. On a stated rotation: interior glass and partitions in full, baseboards, vents and returns, ceiling fan blades and light fixtures, inside the fridge, under and behind furniture that can be moved, upholstered chair arms, and carpet spot treatment. You get told which visit each falls on so nothing quietly disappears.
Frequency
Five nights a week suits client-facing offices and anywhere with shared kitchens and heavy washroom use. Three nights covers most small professional offices in Galt and Preston comfortably. Weekly works for low-headcount offices where the washroom load is light. It is easier to start at the right frequency after a walkthrough than to argue about it in month three.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to be out of the building?
No. Most office contracts run after hours with keys, a code or a fob, and an alarm procedure agreed in writing. If you would rather have someone in during the day, that is day porter work and it is quoted differently.
Can you clean a small office of only a few people?
Yes. A small professional office in Galt or Preston on a weekly or three-nights-a-week schedule is a normal contract, not a favour. It gets the same written scope as a larger one.
Do you clean the office side of a plant separately from the floor?
It can be either. Most plants take both on one contract because the connecting entry is the problem area, but an office-only scope is fine if your production housekeeping is handled internally.
